Dosage form

Suppositories are translucent with possible marbling, almost colorless or with a yellowish or grayish tinge, torpedo-shaped.

Slight softening of the surface layer and sweating" of the blister strip packaging are allowed.

Structure

For one suppository:

Active ingredient: prostate extract - 30 mg (in terms of water-soluble peptides - 6 mg).

Excipients: dimethyl sulfoxide - 90 mg, macrogol 1500 (polyethylene oxide 1500) - 2180 mg.

Pharmacodynamics

The drug has anti-inflammatory and antiaggregatory effects, stimulates the muscles of the bladder.

The active ingredients of the prostate extract belong to the group of peptide bioregulators - cytomedins.

These drugs are peptides with a molecular weight of 1 to 10 kDa. Low molecular weight peptides of para- or autocrine nature, perform the function of trans-specific intra- and intercellular messengers. Peptides of the prostate gland reduce the time of blood coagulation and increase the antiaggregatory activity of the vascular wall, improve blood microcirculation, increase the fibrinolytic activity of the blood, increase the contractile activity of detrusor myocytes in vivo, in vitro. They have immunomodulatory and immunostimulating effects, enhance the synthesis of antihistamine and antiserotonin antibodies. The use of peptide bioregulators in the treatment of chronic prostatitis is based on the ability of these drugs to restore microcirculation,to have an indirect anti-inflammatory effect by increasing the synthesis of antihistamine and antiserotonin antibodies, as well as their immunomodulatory and immunostimulating effect.

Treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia is based on the most important biological effect of cytomedines: organotropy, which allows regulating the processes of differentiation and cell function in the organ from which they are isolated.
