Pharmaceutical interaction: salts of zinc, copper, lead, silver, mercury, iron, aluminum form insoluble precipitates with a solution of silver proteinate

a solution of silver proteinate is inactivated by alkaloid salts and organic bases (epinephrine).

Pharmacodynamics

Silver preparation.

Has astringent, antiseptic and anti-inflammatory effects.

Dissociates with the formation of silver ions, which bind to the DNA of bacteria and prevent their reproduction on the mucous membranes under conditions of local application.

Pharmokinetics

When applied topically, it is practically not absorbed.

Symptomatic therapy for acute nasopharyngitis (rhinitis), sinusitis.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the drug, atrophic rhinitis, pregnancy, breastfeeding, children under 3 years of age (for a given dosage).

Overdose

Symptoms

With the recommended route of administration, overdose is unlikely.

Possible increased side effects.

If a large amount of the drug is accidentally swallowed, irritation of the gastrointestinal tract may occur.

With prolonged uncontrolled use of the drug, it is theoretically possible the appearance of a very rare disease - argyrosis (staining in a gray or bluish color of the skin and mucous membranes).

Subject to the recommended dosing regimen, the risk of argyrosis is unlikely.

Treatment.

In case of severe irritation, burning, itching of eyes, skin, mucous membranes, rinse with plenty of water for 15 minutes.

Treatment is symptomatic.

Side effects

Slight irritation of the mucous membrane, burning, itching, allergic reactions (urticaria, atopic dermatitis, Quincke's edema, anaphylactic shock).

Special storage conditions

Store the reconstituted solution in a dark place at a temperature of 2 to 8 В° C for -14 days.
