Nasal spray in the form of a colorless or slightly yellowish, transparent liquid with a specific odor.

1 ml

oxymetazoline hydrochloride 500 mcg

racemic camphor, menthol, eucalyptol, disubstituted sodium phosphate, sodium edetate (Trilon B), benzalkonium chloride, propylene glycol, purified water.

10 ml - polymer bottles (1) with spray stoppers - cardboard packs.

20 ml - polymer bottles (1) with spray stoppers - cardboard packs.

pharmachologic effect

Noxprey is an? -Adrenomimetic, an imidazoline derivative, belongs to vasoconstrictor agents for local use.

When it enters the nasal cavity, the drug narrows the arterioles of the mucous membrane of the nasal cavity, as a result of which swelling, hyperemia, exudation decreases, nasal breathing is restored, and nasal discharge decreases.

Noxprey also reduces the swelling of the mucous membrane around the opening of the Eustachian tube, improving drainage in Eustachitis and otitis media.

The essential oils that make up the drug help to eliminate irritation of the nasal mucosa, protect it from excessive drying.

Pharmacokinetics

Local vasoconstriction of the nasal mucosa and paranasal sinuses occurs 5-10 minutes after the injection of Noxprey into the nasal cavity and lasts up to 10-12 hours.

Indications for use

- acute rhinitis of allergic or infectious and inflammatory etiology

- sinusitis

- nasal congestion and difficulty in nasal breathing with colds

- eustachitis, otitis media

- to facilitate rhinoscopy and other manipulations in the nasal cavity.

Contraindications for use

- hypersensitivity to drug components - atrophic rhinitis - children under 6 years old - pregnancy - lactation period. The drug is used with caution in chronic heart failure, arrhythmias, severe atherosclerosis, arterial hypertension, thyrotoxicosis, diabetes mellitus, chronic renal failure, angle-closure glaucoma, prostatic hyperplasia with clinical symptoms while taking MAO inhibitors, tricyclic antidepressants. To prevent the spread of infection, one bottle should not be used by several people. Long-term use and drug overdose should be avoided. Long-term use of decongestants can reduce their effectiveness.Abuse of these agents can cause atrophy of the nasal mucosa and reactive hyperemia with rhinitis medicamentosa.

Dosage regimen

The tip of the bottle nozzle is inserted into each nasal passage and sharply pressed once on the bottle.

During injection, air is drawn in through the nose.

Do not tilt your head back and turn the bottle over when injecting Noxspray.

Children aged 6 to 12 years old are used 1 injection into each nasal passage 2 times / day, children over 12 years old and adults - 1-2 injections into each nasal passage 2 times / day.

The duration of use should not exceed 7 days.

Overdose

With a significant overdose or with accidental oral administration, the following symptoms may occur: miosis, nausea, vomiting, cyanosis, hyperthermia, tachycardia, arrhythmia, vascular insufficiency, arterial hypertension, respiratory disorders, pulmonary edema, cardiac arrest, mental disorders.

It is extremely rare - depression of the central nervous system with the possible development of coma.

Treatment: in case of an overdose of the drug, the stomach is washed and symptomatic therapy is performed.

Side effect

Sometimes: burning or dryness of the nasal membranes, sneezing.

In rare cases: reactive hyperemia.

Repeated overdose with local nasal application leads to such systemic sympathomimetic effects as tachycardia, insomnia, anxiety, increased blood pressure, headache, nausea.

It is extremely rare when using Knoxprey.
