Ivy leaf extract contains many beneficial components that determine its effect.

The most significant of these are saponins of the triterpene series, for example, hederacoside C and alpha-hederin.

As you know, alpha-hederin inhibits the endocytosis of beta2-adrenergic receptors, increasing the activity of beta2-adrenergic cells on the mucous membranes of the bronchi, as well as the epithelial layer of the lungs.

In this case, there is a decrease in the level of calcium ions in the cells of the bronchial mucosa, contributing to bronchodilation.

As a result of stimulation of beta2-adrenergic receptors, there is an increase in surfactant production by type 2 alveolar epithelial cells.

Therefore, the viscosity of mucus decreases and its removal from the respiratory system is facilitated.

Indications for use

This syrup is prescribed for the treatment of:

acute inflammation of the respiratory tract, accompanied by severe cough

chronic forms of inflammatory diseases of the bronchi.

The duration of treatment is 7 days.
