Pharmacological action of
Aversectin C is a natural avermectin complex isolated by microbiological synthesis using a Streptomyces avermitilis culture. Aversectin ointment has a wide range of insect-acaricidal action against sarcoptoid and demodectic mites, lice, fleas and lice-beetles. The mechanism of action of the active ingredient, aversectin C1, is its effect on the value of the current of chlorine ions through the membranes of nerve and muscle cells of the parasite. The main targets are glutamate-sensitive chlorine channels, as well as gamma-aminobutyric acid receptors. A change in the current of chlorine ions disrupts the conduction of nerve impulses, which leads to paralysis and death of the parasite. Aversectin ointment has low toxicity for warm-blooded animals, in recommended doses it does not exert a locally irritating, allergic, embryotoxic and teratogenic effect, does not have cumulative properties. Dosage and administration
Ointment is applied externally to the affected surface of the skin or ear at the rate of 0.2 - 0.3 g per 1 cm . With acaroses, the affected areas of the skin are washed and wiped dry, the auricles are cleaned of crusts and scabs, and the hair is cut off. The ointment is smeared with a spatula, a glass rod, cotton-gauze swab. When applying the ointment to the ear canal, the auricle is folded in half lengthwise and massaged at the base. When applying the ointment to other parts of the body (head, trunk, paws), it is rubbed vigorously with a brush or a wide cork in the affected areas. For convenience, the ointment can be melted in a jar of the manufacturer in hot water and applied in a warm form. With psoroptosis, otodectosis, and notoedrosis, the ointment is used twice with an interval of 5 to 7 days. With demodicosis (squamous form) - three times with an interval of 6 - 7 days (pustular and mixed form) - seven times with an interval of 7 days, with multiple lesions with an interval of 5 days. The treatment of pustular and mixed forms of demodicosis should be comprehensive and, in addition to etiotropic treatment, immunocorrective, antimicrobial and antifungal therapy should be carried out. In order to monitor the effectiveness of treatment, 7 days after the last treatment, deep scrapings are made from affected and healthy skin areas and examined for ticks. If they are detected, the processing is repeated. With entomoses (lice, fleas, lice), the ointment is rubbed against the growth of hair (it can be melted) in places inaccessible for licking (in the back of the head). The ointment is used twice with an interval of 7 to 10 days, if necessary, the treatment can be repeated. In order to prevent flea breeding and reinfestation with pets, the litter should be changed.
